Clinical Lab
Rheumatic diseases can be difficult to diagnose. Many of these diseases feature unusual antibody formation, abnormalities in kidney function, blood count abnormalities and other testing that is out of the ordinary. It is essential that we have accurate testing to diagnose and follow these diseases. We also need testing to monitor for any adverse effects medications may have on liver, renal, and bone marrow function. Ideally, we need that testing prior to continuing with some of our injectable medications, so speed is important.
We have a complex clinical laboratory on-site, staffed by two certified medical technicians. Our patients frequently ask their other doctors to let us draw their lab because our CMTs have an especially nice βtouchβ. We can provide blood chemistry, CBC, sedimentation rate, urinalysis, rheumatoid factor, and urine pregnancy tests quickly, without sending our patients out of the office. We have established connections with reliable specialty labs for those tests that need to be sent out. Because the lab is just steps away, our providers can easily consult with the lab to get exactly what they want and can get important test results quickly. The lab has an exemplary record with the CLIA evaluations mandated by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid.
